Double national accolade for Castle Cars at Professional Driver QSi Awards
Castle Cars has won two prestigious prizes in the only national awards for the private hire and chauffeur industry. The Tonbridge company has won the Silver award in both the Private Hire Company of the Year, 1-80 vehicles and the Community Award categories of the 2016 Professional Driver QSi Awards.
Professional Driver magazine editor Mark Bursa said: “Tonbridge’s Castle Cars is a well-established operator that has built its business around stability and service – but has seen growth of 50% in the past two years.”
“This friendly local firm offers everything from basic taxis to chauffeur cars, all to a consistently high standard. The judges were impressed by the high standards of customer care, particularly for vulnerable passengers.”
Mark Bursa said: “Castle Cars is even working with a dementia charity to come up with ways to stop elderly people being scammed on their doorstep. Good ideas such as welcome packs to residents of new homes helps build great local customer loyalty.”
Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 10 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Effingham Park Hotel, near Gatwick Airport, hosted by TV motorsports presenter and racing driver Amanda Stretton.
The 10 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.
Mark Bursa said: “The chauffeur and private hire industry has weathered the worst of the economy over the past few years, while making giant leaps forward in quality and professionalism. Our QSi Awards are designed to reward that excellence, and bring the industry together for a night in a celebration of all that’s good about this business.”
Mark Bursa continued: “We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries, and it was a very tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best operators in Britain.”
